Follow this County checklist >

• Complete the 4-H Volunteer Interest Survey. Once you complete the interest survey and it has been reviewed, information for completing the remaining steps in the application process will be emailed to you. Please follow the instructions in the email to continue. 

The remaining steps will include:

• Complete a Live Scan fingerprinting appointment. The necessary form to complete the Live Scan will be provided to you via email once your Volunteer Interest Survey has been received and reviewed. You may schedule an appointment for yourself. 

• Submit your ZSuite enrollment. New Adult Volunteers (never enrolled in 4-H) will create a new household profile in the ZSuite system.  If your family has a ZSuite profile, please add your new adult profile to the existing ZSuite household account (click on “add a member”).

• Complete the required course for NEW volunteers. You can find these courses on the CA 4-H Learning Center website.  The enrollment key is Alameda

The course includes essential parts of 4-H service: 

• 4-H Orientation - 40 minutes

• CANRA for Volunteers - 30 minutes

• 4-H Thriving Model of PYD - 15 minutes

• 2-Deep Supervision Policy - 5 minutes

• University of California 4-H Core Values - 5 minutes

Course length: 1 hour and 35 minutes (can be done in multiple sessions). Create an eXtension Account and complete the New Volunteer Course.

1. Submit your ZSuite enrollment. 

Please log into the ZSuite household account that you used for enrollment during the 2023/24 4-H program year. Use the same email and password to log in. Your returning volunteer enrollment must be “pending approval” before being approved.

• Complete the required courses for RETURNING volunteers. You can find these courses on the CA 4-H Learning Center website.  The enrollment key is Alameda

• Complete payment of the annual adult volunteer enrollment fee. For the Alameda County Payment Survey, use this link.
