Through this project, participants gain hands-on experience working safely with large livestock while learning the responsibilities of horse ownership and care. They receive education on horse anatomy, tack, grooming, handling, and showmanship, developing the skills and knowledge needed to successfully exhibit a horse. Participants who have access to a horse through ownership or a lease are eligible to compete at the county fair.
Age: 9 and older (must turn 9 before December 31, 2026)

Cost: depends if you are leasing a horse
