You will be divided by category and age and go to the assigned room for your groups.
When the evaluators call you in, you will start with your presentation (they will have your short description from your registration, so you may want to say someting different than your 100 words or less description. Presentations are limited to:
30 seconds for Primaries, Juniors, Intermediates
1 minute for Seniors
After you are finished, the evaluators will ask you questions about your outfit or item.
The evaluators cannot touch you but they could ask you to take off or put on a jacket or to show them a part of your outfit or item like the hen.
You are evaluated on the item you made or purchased and your overall appearance and expression of personal style. The way you present yourself is important!
The evaluators will evaluate the presenter:
Give 1-4 points for different aspects on the score card (see all 7 evaluation forms).
Write 1-2 sentences on what the presenter did well.
Write 1-2 sentences on what they could have done differently to make the entry more effective.
How long have you been sewing?
Why did you choose this pattern?
Why did you choose this fabric?
What was the hardest part about making your outfit or item?
Did you make the changes?
What new sewing equipment did you learn to use while making this?
Where and how often will you wear this garment/outfit?
How does this outfit coordinate with your existing wardrobe?
What was your motivation to put together this outfit?
What was your most difficult challenge during your shopping experience?
Did you shop for a particular outfit, or did you find something special and build the outfit around it?
What was your plan for shopping, knowing you needed to stay under a limit?
What did you learn from your shopping experience?
