The Leadership Project is for the Youth Officers to develop skills to plan and run the club meetings and events. The Youth Officers are elected members of the club who take on specific leadership roles to help the group run smoothly, learn parliamentary procedure, and practice real-world leadership skills.
Core Responsibilities:
Plan & lead meetings – Work with other officers and club leaders to set the agenda, choose meeting themes, and guide discussions.
Run business portions – Use parliamentary procedure to conduct votes, make motions, and ensure fair participation.
Communicate with members – Share announcements, reminders, and updates with the club.
Represent the club – Speak on behalf of members at county, regional, or state 4-H events.
It’s not just about “running the meeting”—youth officers are learning teamwork, planning, responsibility, and how to work with different personalities, which are all core 4-H life skills.
