October Club MEeting Minutes

The meeting was called to order by President Dwayne “Sunny” Eiley. The meeting was called to order on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 7:10pm. The Pledge of Allegiance and 4 H Pledge were led by Verid and Richard at 7:12pm. The previous meeting minutes was motioned by Verid and seconded by Oliver at 7:14pm; unanimous approval
4H Birthdays were celebrated for all members with a birthday in the month of September. Treats were handed out to everyone celebrating their birthday. Happy Birthday song was sung at 7:16pm.

Officer Reports began at 7:17pm. Community Service Leader Braydon Praest announced can food drive and donations for Hurricane Harvey Victims. Sign Ups for End Hunger Program end November 18. There is also a clothes drive for Santa Rosa Fire Victims. Treasurer Netah Golan read the Monthly Treasurer’s Report for September and October.

​Project Reports were held at 7:20. Beekeeping will hold their first meeting in November at Karen Sherman’s House. The project will work with The Beekeeper’s Association. Announcement by Project Leader Karen Sherman. Cribbage will hold meetings at Round Table Pizza. Announcement by Junior Leader Richard Paseman. Crochet will make items such as blankets and puppets at their meetings. Anything that members make in the project can enter them at the Alameda County Fair. Meetings will be held at Carolyn/David Vane’s House. Announcement by Project Leader Talila Golan. Drama will start holding meetings in November. The skits are directed by the youth project leaders and members make the props and act in a skit for Skit Night. Announcement by Project Leader David Vane.

Old Business began at 7:28pm. Skate Night will be held in San Ramon. Members can bring their own skates or rentals for $1. Their will be a costume contest. Announcement by David Vane. Hayward Farmers Market Outreach Program is on October 21. This will be a petting zoo at the Farmer’s Market. You may bring your own animals to the event. Achievement Night is an upcoming awards night for Record Book Awards, and it will be a County Wide Event. National Science Night will be held at Canyon Middle School. The theme this year is Incredible Wearables. Sees Candy Fundraiser will be held through November. Members who sell the most candy will be given a prize. All proceeds will go to the Redwood 4H Club. Announcement by Club Leader Marion Wagner. Dunsmuir House Petting Zoo will be an Outreach Event in Oakland on a Saturday in December. This will also be a fundraiser event since we will be having a photo booth for visitors to take photos with a pony for a small donation. Announcement by Club Leader Marion Wagner and David Vane.

Redwood 4H now has its own website!!! Sidharth has worked extremely hard and has created a website owned and run by Redwood. Each project will get their own page that they will be responsible for maintaining and updating. Please visit the website and stay tuned for what you can do as a Club Member to help improve the website.

The meeting was Adjourned at 7:40pm by Richard Paseman. Next Club Meeting is scheduled for November 9, 2017 at 7:00pm at Canyon Middle School, Castro Valley.
